| Cyprus Telecommunication Authority (CYTA) is
a corporate body responsible for the provisions of telecommunication
both nationally and internationally.
The services provided include:
Telephony, telefax, data transmission (packet swithing), mobile
telephone (GSM and prepaid GSM), paging, telex, telegraphy, maritime,
TV transmission / reception, private leased circuits, audiotex,
video conferencing, IDSN, FR/ATM, ADSL and Internet.
Public card phones and payphones are situated in various locations
throughout the island. Telecards can be purchased from banks, post
offices, souvenir shops, Kiosks and from CYTA’s customer service
offices and other authorised dealers in all towns.

Travellers may use their mobile phones in Cyprus, provided that
a Roaming Agreement has been signed between CYTA and their service
provider.
Prepaid mobile service
A prepaid mobile service is now available in Cyprus and is called
So Easy. So Easy is the GSM prepaid mobile service designed for
those who wish to enjoy the basic advantages of mobile telephony
without signing a contract and without receiving monthly bills.
To become a So Easy user, you must simply purchase a connection
pack. Top up cards can be purchased to recharge your account and
these are available at CYTA offices, selected dealer shops and kiosks.
Cards are available in denominations of CYP 5.00, CYP 10.00 and
CYP 20.00.

Off peak call charges:
After 08.00 pm – 08.00 am all calls made from a landline are
charged at 2 Cents per 4 minutes
From 10.00 pm – 08.00 am all GSM calls are charged at 1 Cent
per minute

International calls
International calls are also very cheap. For example, calls made
from a Cyprus landline to a U.K. landline are charged at 5 Cents
per minute all day.
Calls made from a Cyprus landline to a U.K. mobile are charged at
17 Cents per minute peak rate and 16 Cents per minute off peak.
